Product Owner / Technical Project Manager (Systems & Operations)
Newark, NJ (Onsite)
$125,000 – $175,000
Position Overview (Business Problem First)
The business is executing system-driven initiatives without clear ownership, structured requirements, or consistent delivery discipline.
Projects are delayed. Engineering cycles are wasted. Priorities shift without control.
This role exists to fix that.
You own the translation of business needs into executable systems work. You bring structure where there is ambiguity, enforce clarity where there is confusion, and drive projects from concept through delivery without drop-off.
You are accountable for execution, not coordination.
What You Own
• End-to-end delivery of system and operations-driven projects
• Backlog clarity, prioritization, and execution discipline
• Requirement quality across all engineering workstreams
• Sprint execution and delivery consistency
• Cross-functional alignment between business, ops, and engineering
Responsibilities (Ownership-Driven)
Product & Requirements Ownership
• Own requirement quality across all projects, ensuring clarity, completeness, and usability for engineering
• Translate ambiguous business inputs into structured, actionable development plans
• Define scope, acceptance criteria, and success conditions before development begins
Project Execution & Delivery
• Own project timelines, dependencies, and delivery outcomes end-to-end
• Drive execution across multiple concurrent initiatives without loss of control
• Identify risks early and enforce corrective action before delays occur
Agile System Execution
• Own sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery cadence
• Ensure development capacity aligns with business priorities
• Eliminate rework by enforcing clarity before build begins
Cross-Functional Alignment
• Act as the single point of accountability between business, operations, and engineering
• Force alignment on scope, priorities, and timelines
• Ensure all stakeholders operate from the same understanding
Must-Haves (Binary)
• Has owned end-to-end delivery of technical or system-driven projects
• Writes clear user stories, tickets, and acceptance criteria used by developers
• Has worked directly with engineering teams in Agile environments
• Demonstrates strong execution discipline across multiple concurrent projects
• Can take ambiguous business needs and convert them into structured deliverables
Requirements (Capability > Years)
• Experience in Product Ownership, Technical Project Management, or Business Analysis
• Strong understanding of Agile workflows and sprint execution
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-Have Context
• Experience with WMS, ERP, or operational systems
• Exposure to logistics, manufacturing, or operations-heavy environments
• Experience with system integrations or workflow automation
Success Metrics (MANDATORY)
• Reduction in rework caused by unclear requirements
• On-time project delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
• Improved sprint predictability and delivery consistency
• Increased alignment between business, operations, and engineering
• Faster cycle time from requirement → production
Final Invitation to Apply
If you are someone who takes ownership of execution, eliminates ambiguity, and delivers complex system projects without drift, this is a high-impact opportunity to step into a role where your output directly drives operational performance.
