Position Overview

A growing senior living organization is seeking a seasoned Director of Human Resources to oversee and elevate HR strategy across nine communities.

This is a field-facing, executive leadership role — not remote, not corporate-only. The Director will rotate between communities, establish strong relationships with each Executive Director, and ensure consistent HR execution across all sites.

This role requires strategic oversight, operational discipline, and the ability to build trust at every level of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions across 9 locations:

    • Recruitment & retention

    • Employee relations

    • Performance management

    • Training & development

    • HR policy implementation

  • Partner directly with Executive Directors on workforce planning and talent strategy

  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters

  • Drive retention initiatives and employee engagement programs

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations

  • Standardize onboarding processes and HR systems across communities

  • Travel between communities on a structured rotation schedule

  • Serve as a bridge between corporate leadership and site operations

Qualifications

  • HR leadership experience

  • Multi-site or regional HR oversight preferred

  • Senior housing, assisted living, adult home, or SNF experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of NY employment law and healthcare regulations

  • Demonstrated ability to influence building-level leadership

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills

  • Ability to travel regularly between locations
