Medical Billing Specialist

Position Overview
A rapidly growing home care organization is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to bring billing and claims operations in-house. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, takes initiative, and is eager to take ownership of billing operations.
As the company expands into multiple states, this position offers significant growth potential into a Director of Billing role, with the opportunity to build and eventually lead billing operations across the organization.
Responsibilities
Manage the full medical billing and claims process, from submission through reimbursement
Process and submit claims through EMR systems and clearinghouses
Work with insurance payers and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
Follow up on outstanding, denied, and rejected claims
Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
Manage accounts receivable (AR) and ensure timely reimbursement
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
Take initiative in building and improving billing processes as the company grows
Help establish scalable billing operations to support expansion into additional states
Qualifications
1+ year of hands-on medical billing experience
Experience with EMR systems, clearinghouses, and claims processing
Familiarity with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
Home care, nursing home, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or ABA billing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of claims, denials, reimbursement, and AR follow-up
Self-starter with strong initiative, ownership, and leadership potential
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
